About Steve Moscovitch

Steve Moscovitch is an engaged and insightful local therapist who helps you address your personal challenges and struggles. He works with you to find the clarity and confidence you need to accept yourself and move toward personal mastery and happiness.

For more than 30 years, Steve has helped hundreds of clients in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba to identify the root of their problems, and to find solutions anchored in self-acceptance and improved self-esteem. He brings veteran savvy, a commitment to best practice, and the passion of a man who loves his work.

Steve holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia and is a Registered Social Worker in the province of Manitoba. Steve is also a Certified Focusing Trainer (CFT), a designation he earned from the New York-based International Focusing Institute. (Focusing is a particular methodology that Steve uses with some clients to help identify and articulate the nature of a problem when the feelings associated with it are especially elusive or hard to talk about. Steve has also taken extensive training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, a proven methodology that helps couples tap into suppressed feelings in a way that helps them emerge stronger as individuals and as a couple.

Prior to launching his private practice, Steve worked with the Employee Assistance Program and the Chemical Dependency Program at St. Boniface Hospital, and also with the Anger and Abuse Program for men at the Family Centre of Winnipeg.

Steve is intuitive and empathetic; he listens actively and at a very deep level. His goal is to know what it’s like to be you so he can help you make the healthy changes you need to make to achieve what matters most to you.
